This morning, I’m picking up my rental car and I’m going to explore the west coast for a week. I’ll be going north to Shark Bay first, then south of Perth to see the bicentennial trees.
I wasn’t feeling like carrying all of my stuff to the rental office, so I went to get the car and went back to the hostel to pick up my bag.
Next I wanted to do some groceries, always a good idea to have some food with you when you go to the outback and it’s always cheaper in the cities. Well, it’s Sunday, the stores don’t open until 11:00am and I arrived there at 10:00am. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to wait an hour or just go, having some road ahead of me. I ended up waiting, not willing to go without a minimum of food and water, better be prepared, you never know what can appended… So I went to a cafe and relaxed for a bit :).
Once I was finally ready, I hit the road.
My first, and only stop of the day, was at the Pinnacles. They looks like little soldiers standing around the sand dunes, unique scenery. Scientists are still studying them, having different theories on how sone limestone had been formed. They all kind of goes with sand dunes with forest on them, some reaction with the water, rotting wood and else that created the Pinnacle in the dunes that later eroded to only leave what we can see now.
I stopped for the night in Geraldton, halfway between Perth and Shark bay. It’s a quiet fishing town. Arrived there for the sunset and being Sunday, it was very quiet.
I wasn’t feeling like doing much anyway, having an other driving day tomorrow.
