Pemberton-Albany

8.05

For today, I’m going to see more giant trees :)

But first, I’m not sure if it was a great idea to climb on top of all of the trees and go for a run afterward. My legs feel sooo sore this morning :(

I went to Walpole-Nornalup National Park, only area in the world in which the Tingle trees grow. They are from the eucalyptus family, and there is three types of them. Rates, Yellow and red, the last one being the tallest and being able to reach 75m hight.

I made a first stop at the Tingle Tree walk, a 800m bushwalk, where you can see one of the biggest red tingle tree, with it’s hollow base that a car could fit in.

And next to the Valley of the Giant with it’s Tree Top Walk.
I arrived just in time for the guided walk through the Ancient Empires. Learn a little bit more about the trees and divers bushes that grow in the area. There they have the oldest one, around 400 years old, 30m height and 22m of circumference at the base.
And for the Tree Top Walk, it’s a walkway 40m above the ground at his highest point, that go throught the forest. It’s impressive being that high and still be lower than the trees… Liked it!!

After all those tree, I’m ready to head toward Albany, my stop for the night.
On the way, I saw a Swiss Chocolate Factory, so I had to stop!! Got to taste a few sample, brought me back home ;).
And I did an other stop at Limeburners, whisky distillery, the only one in Southwest Australia. Did some tasting, not too much, I had to drive. I liked it, something different to do :).

And it was a good stop because the guy there gave me a few advice on where to go in the city, like the Anzac Memorial, on top of the hill with an amazing view of the area. I watch the sunset from there, finishing my day in a nice relaxing way.
