So, we got up at 5:00am, in the dark and chilly weather. Didn't want to get up, but the promise of seeing the sunrise over Uluru is a good motivation.
We drove to the sunrise viewing point at Kata Tjuta. From there you can see the sun rising next to Uluru and the Kata Tjuta going from dark to red from the sun light. Unfortunately, it was cloudy, so the red color wasn't really there, but watching the sunrise here was still beautiful.
Next we went for the Valley of the Wind walk, 7,4km around Kata Tjuta, amazing place!!!
It took us less time than we thought it would, so on the way back to Yulara, we made a quick pictures stopped at Uluru.
We arrived back to the camp ground for lunch, and after that we decided to have a free afternoon. Everybody doing what they want and meeting back at 4:30pm to go watch the sunset.
I went to the town square, which is 3 restaurants and maybe 5 stores. There is an aboriginals market too, which is only one stand, with 2 aboriginals ladies doing some painting.
For the sunset, we went to a different spot that the night before. This time, we could see Uluru and Kata Tjuta with the sun setting in between.
Back to the camp for diner. What was supposed to be something quick ended up taking for ever to cook. By the time we went to bed, it was already 11:00pm, not too late, but with an other 5:00am weak up call in the morning, the night is going to be short...
