Leaving New Plymouth, I took the Surf Highway 45. It goes kind of along the coast around Taranaki National Park.
All along the road you can see Mt Taranaki so I stopped a few times to take pictures (I can be a little crazy about that sometimes, never enough pictures...). I did a quick stop at the old Lighthouse too, those being, for some reason, something I can't go by without stopping.

Arriving at Hawera and having to use the bathroom, I decided to make a quick stop there. I parked the car and something caught my eyes. It was the old water tower that I read about and wanted to stop at but completely forgot about. You can walk on top of it and there were no way I wasn't going to do so, so 215 steps latter I was up there!!
After that no more stop, went strait to Palmerston North. As soon I arrived in the city, I knew I didn't like it. It's not a bad place, but for me it's just a city with nothing special to it.
The reason that made me come here is that I really wanted to go see a Rugby game while in New Zealand and it happened that it was the only one I could go too (maybe if I had look into that sooner than I did I could have found an other one).
Since it was still early, I went for a walk in the city and was really happy to only stay here for one night, like I said not much for me here.
And finally it's rugby time!! I had a really good time. I don't know all of the rules, but I think that rugby is something quite entertaining to watch, would love to see more of it :)
It was Hurricanes vs Blues, score 30-23 for the Hurricanes, good game!
